I started my career in tech way back in 2007. A tech startup in California hired me while I was in college. I had no idea what I was doing and was new to programming. Part of my responsibilities was to send a huge clients' users emails every day. This client is a household name company and was vital to the startup. I had to run all these crazy scripts on the command line and manage huge data files with the clients' information. It was a complicated and challenging job for some kid in college. I could easily make a mistake, and it was time-consuming work.
One day a colleague helped me to write a little bit of code to automate one little step in my workflow. A lightbulb went off in my head! I realized I could just write the correct code and conjure up a script that would do my job for me? I got hooked. I went on to automate a lot of my work so I could sit back and relax. I added more and more automation to my work. Eventually, I wrote a huge tool so others at the company could use it.
After the success of creating tools for others to use, I became a full-time software engineer. Being a software engineer allowed me to leave my home town and land more prominent and better jobs. I have worked at companies big and small since then. Eventually, I made it abroad and got to travel the entire world. Starting down the path of automation literally changed my life forever. I achieved many of my dreams, and no joke, it was because I was lazy and started automating things to be more efficient.
I hope to teach others how to automate anything they want or need to. Maybe I can help you land a dream job? Or teach you how to make money on the side so that you can have a better life? My goal is to help you achieve your goals and dreams.
Here’s how to automate.
